The 1-80 Speedway opened in Greenwood, Nebraska in 1994 and sponsored weekly races on a 4/10 mile dirt track for the next seven years. In 2001 the track was purchased and renamed to the Nebraska Speedway. In 2004 the owners added the Little Sunset; a 1/8 mile Karting facility. In 2005 the Soaring Eagle Motocross facility opened and today the entire complex is known as the Nebraska Raceway Park. The top of the line racing facilities ensure that every race fan can enjoy their favorite sport.

Events at the Raceway include NASCAR Whelan Series, NCRA, Monster Truck, CLMA Late Models, Demolition Derbies, Free Style Motocross, ASCS 360 Sprints, Pro Modifieds, Craftsman, Pro Am, Hobby Stock and much more. They host a wide selection of special family fun events throughout the year as well. Adult tickets for most events are $15.00. The sound of screaming engines can be heard as the Raceway brings back the fan favorite, Crash-O-Rama event. The Derby offers a $9,000. Purse to entice drivers. The evening features a full demolition derby with heat races, a heat race demo for trucks and a heat race for cars 1980 or newer. This event is a crowd pleaser with hard crashes, steaming engines and crunching metal.

The Soaring Edge Motocross track at the Nebraska Raceway offers motocross fans a wide selection of events to choose from. There are two classes; Heartland MX and Full Throttle. Each class has regular racing events throughout the season. The Little Sunset Karting course offers kids from 5 to 75 clean, safe funs. The goal of the kart course is to train drivers and help them develop good driving skills. There are several class divisions to compete in; Rookie, Junior 1 Gas, Junior 1 Alcohol, Stock Heavy, Stock Animal, Rookie Champ, Junior 1 Champ, Junior 2 Champ and Adult. Karting competition encourages safe, fun the entire family can enjoy.

Free camping is allowed at the Raceway complex, however there are no hookups. Additional camping is available at the Pine Grove RV Park with full amenities. The Mid-Nebraska Speedway in Grand Island is considered the “Racers Choice”. The Speedway season includes Grand National Late Models, IMCA Hobby Stocks, Happy Hornets, Wild n’ Wacky Cruisers and NCRA and CLMA. They host several special events throughout the year. Racing fun takes place every Saturday night from April through September. Tickets start at $8.00 for adults to regular weekly races. Special event tickets start at $15.00.
